Eternal Nebula — Privacy Policy (DRAFT)
Effective date: November 6, 2026
Eternal Nebula (eternalnebula.com) is a free focus and relaxation website. This policy explains what we collect and why. Short version: we collect the minimum needed to run accounts and understand usage. We run no ads, we never sell your data, and we share data only with the service providers named below.
What we collect
1. Account information (only if you create an account). Creating an account is optional — listening, timers, and the focus tools work without one. If you sign up, we store:
- Your email address, handled by Google Firebase Authentication (email/password sign-in). We never see or store your password — Firebase handles credentials.
- Your saved mixes, favorites, and focus stats, stored in Google Firestore. Our security rules are owner-only: your account can read and write only your own data.
2. What we do NOT collect.
- No payment information — the site is free and there is nothing to buy today.
- No advertising identifiers — there are no ads anywhere on the site.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone except the providers above, who process it only to operate the service.
Cookies and local storage
- Sign-in keeps a session cookie via Firebase Authentication.
- Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits.
- Focus stats are kept in your browser's local storage when you are signed out ("saved only in this browser").
- Your last listening mix, its volume and mute settings, your planet theme, and your still-background preference are also saved in this browser. This listening memory does not require an account and does not start audio automatically. Clearing site data in your browser removes it.
- Named mixes and the simple-background setting are saved in this browser. Mix backups contain the names, sounds, levels, mute settings, world and gentle-drift setting you chose; they do not include task text or focus history. Backups are downloaded to your device, and importing a backup reads it locally without uploading it.
Your choices
- Use the site without an account — listening, timers, browser-saved mixes and local focus stats work. An account is needed for cloud sync.
- Delete your data: contact us at privacy@eternalnebula.com and we will delete your account and its stored data.
- You can block analytics cookies in your browser; the site will still work.
Children
Eternal Nebula is a general-audience relaxation site and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and note the change here. Material changes will be announced on the site.

Questions about privacy: privacy@eternalnebula.com — Eternal Nebula, eternalnebula.com
Nebula iPhone app
The native iPhone app is named Nebula and is listed as Eternal Nebula. Its main listening, focus, breathing and game features do not require an account. Saved mixes, rituals, favorite sounds, recent sessions, task text, preferences, game scores and downloaded recordings are stored on your device. The native app does not include the website’s Google Analytics or Firebase account scripts, does not request microphone access, and does not record your voice.
The app connects to eternalnebula.com to stream or download the recordings you choose. The hosting service receives the connection information needed to deliver those files, such as your IP address and requested file. Website links, including account and collectible pages, open in your external browser; the website practices described in this policy apply when you use those pages. Sharing a mix happens only when you choose to share. Removing the app or clearing its data removes locally stored app information. Apple may handle App Store and TestFlight information under its own privacy policies.
On the website, explicit audio downloads are stored in your browser’s cache. They are separate from your account and are removed when you remove a download or clear the site’s browser data. Your browser may also clear cached files when it needs storage.
